Nail Polish Battle 2015: Neons + Nudes

Leighton Denny - Sink in to Mink // Nails Inc - Star Street // China Glaze - Flip Flop Fantasy // Leighton Denny - Hot Under The Collar // Glamour - 791

The first two were easy to eliminate, the Glamour polish isn't very pigmented and needs 3-4 coats to build up opacity. Sink in to Mink is a great nail art base but on its own isn't that special.

Hot Under The Collar is quite a vibrant orange with a glass fleck finish. More a delicate orange compared to the straight up neon Flip Flop Fantasy.

In the top two are Nails Inc and China Glaze.

Star Street is a pale peach colour, a soft delicate kind of shade which would get a lot of wear in spring. The brush on these polishes are great as well, flat and wide with a curved end so it easily fits against the cuticle.

All that said the winner for me is Flip Flop Fantasy, a bright neon orange. Very hard to get a colour accurate photo of! There are a couple of incarnations of this polish, not sure which this one I have is, however it isn't the first one. One I think would be great for the summer.

Nail Polish Battle 2015: Glitter + Indie

Nails Inc - Savoy Row // OPI - Desperately Seeking Sequins // Dark Metal Lacquer - Turn Loose The Mermaid // Dark Metal Lacquer - Night and the Silent Water // Tara's Talons - My Tangle

In the top three of this category are;

OPI Desperately Seeking Sequins, a very sparkly glitter with holographic hex glitter and bar glitter

Tara's Talons - My Tangle. How could I not have this one, it is a custom polish the lovely Tara created for me based on a polish I had been wanting for years but could no longer find it to buy it.

However the winner is this beautiful duochrome glitter polish which looks green in the bottle but on the nails it is green, blue and purple. Turn Loose The Mermaid, gorgeous!

Nail Polish Battle 2015: Greens

Not too many green polishes this year so this round was quite easy.

Leighton Denny - Morning Dew // Leighton Denny - Dash of Lime // Barry M - Forest

Morning Dew is a classic spring green cream polish

Dash of Lime has a bit of a shimmer running though it which makes it a bit different

However, Forest has to win because it is deeper and while it is supposed to be semi matte in finish with a top coat it really comes to life. Glass flecked and almost mystical, a completely different polish.
