Nail Polish Battle 2015: Pinks

Pink isn't one of my favourite polish colours but for some reason I seem to have acquired a few!

 Nails Inc - Queensbury Way // Nails Inc - William IV // Leighton Denny - Rosey Posey // Glamour - 825 // Nails Inc - Great Queen Place // Nails Inc - Blake Gardens // Leighton Denny - Heat Wave

In the top three are Nails Inc Great Queen Place, a neon pink. I really like the brush on these new polishes, flat and wide. They also are curved so fit the cuticle area easily.

Blake Gardens is another nice pink, this one is deeper in tone and more wearable to me.

The winner is Leighton Denny Heat Wave, it is a stunning glass flecked pink polish with a hint of red. Something which would look great in the summer (although we don't see much sun up north).

Nail Polish Battle 2015: Purples

Purple nail polish is one of my favourites, which is why I have more new polishes than other colours!

Nails Inc - Palace Terrace Gardens // Leighton Denny - I Like Lilac // A England - Crown Of Thistles // Barry M - Orchid (Silk) // Barry M - Sparkling Amethyst // China Glaze - Sleeping Under The Stars // OPI - Lincoln Park at Midnight // Kiko - 255 // OPI - Cosmo With A Twist

I managed to whittle my way down to the top three;

China Glaze is a dark purple colour with a subtle fuchsia shimmer running through it.

The top two include a holographic and a micro glitter.

Crown of Thistles is a stunning orchid holographic colour. One I wore a lot during 2015, and something which really comes to life when in direct sunlight.

However the winner of this battle is Kiko 255, a dark purple packed full of micro multi glitter. Almost galaxy like and gorgeous enough to wear as is.

Stamping Plate: Born Pretty Store - BP01

Born-Pretty-Store-BornPrettyStore-BP-01-BP01-Stamping-Plate Born-Pretty-Store-BornPrettyStore-BP-01-BP01-Stamping-Plate

Born Pretty Store came out with their own stamping plates a little while ago now, I wasn't tempted to get this Christmas plate in Spring because festive nails seemed so far away. I ended up buying this one in August when it was on a special offer.

The plate itself is backed with paper, so no sharp edges. It has three full nail images and eight single images. The full nail images are quite small, you could get away with the large tree and the scene images but if you have longer nails then then snowflake plate would be tricky to work with.

The majority of the images stamped really easily, I had issues with the top of the swirly tree though.

Once I have used the stamping plate you will be able to click here for all the nail art using the plate.

I also have a 10% off code for the website which you can use if you want to;

Nail Polish Battle 2015: Reds

Another day, another battle. Looking at reds;

Barry M - Sparkling Ruby // Barry M - Poppy (Silk) // Leighton Denny - Chestnut Charm // Nails Inc - Grosvenor Crescent

Barry M Poppy was eliminated because it leans slightly to the pink side. Grosvenor Crescent is really dark and lovely but the following two were just that bit special.

Leighton Denny Chestnut Charm is a beautiful autumnal colour which is a little bit different.

However the winner has to be Barry M Sparkling Ruby. It is one of the first two none cream finish Gelly polishes, with a lovely flat and wide brush. It has no glitter which means it is easy to remove. Very appropriate for this time of year which could be why it beat Chestnut Charm.
