Monthly Empties: March 2025

Nails Inc Electric Teal | Dark green cream polish, it was free with a magazine in 2011. I liked it and tried using it as a base for glitter this past month but couldn't get any more out [swatch].

W7 Salt n Pepper | This was a black speckled glitter in a white base, when I went to use it though it has bled and turned grey and also was chunky, it was from 2012 so time to dispose of [swatch].

A Certain Becca Lacquer Snow Pixie | Scent dupe of Lush's Snow Fairy, I liked the scent and the formula. The dropper bottle was also nice as I could apply on cuticles and under nails. Only issue was with the label falling off but the product itself was great and I would repurchase.

Garnier Ambre Solaire SPF 50 | I'd had this a year so was time to get rid, it works with or without make up and doesn't leave a white cast. I have since repurchased.

Simple Moisturisng Facial Wash | I used this three times and every time it left my face really tight and dry, then the next day my skin started peeling. It was anything but moisturising and once I worked out what was causing my skin issues I just had to stop using. Would not repurchase!

Superdrug Fruity Orange and Satsuma Shower Gel | Basic shower gel, smells of oranges. I would repurchase.

Aldi Lacura Sweet Angel Shower Gel | Scent dupe of Lush Snow Fairy, another good basic shower gel scented of sweet pear drops. I would repurchase.

Soap and Glory Call of Fruity Body Scrub | A thick scrub which is nice as it actually stuck to me as I was using it. The scent was generic fruity, I don't have much of a want for body scrub so wouldn't repurchase.

Avon Sunkissed Sunsets Bubble Bath | Creates a fair amount of bubbles, scent was slightly masculine and did linger on my skin. Not sure I would repurchase this scent.

Lush Lugosi Bubble Bar | Created a lot of bubbles, looked like a vampire and was scented of blackberries. I think it was supposed to glow in the dark but I didn't check for that. I did find it left the bath dark and so required extra scrubbing afterwards so not a repurchase.

Lush Punkin Pumpkin Bath Bomb | Shaped like a pumpkin. Scent was vague lime, cinnamon and pepper. I don't think I would repurchase this.

Baylis & Harding Bath Soak Crystals | I got these as part of a gift, I didn't find they were particularly scented and didn't notice any extra relaxing properties than a bath without them.

  

Empties: February 2025

L'Occitane Lavande Hand Cream | I liked the formula on this hand cream, it sinks in quickly and the scent does linger. I wouldn't repurchase as it is strongly scented of lavender which isn't my favourite.

L'Occitane Rose Citron Meyer Hand Cream | Again I like the formula on this, and again I'd not repurchase as the scent is strongly rose scented which isn't something I'd choose.

Wild Refillable Lipbalm Santa's Kisses | This had the improved recipe and the formula was smooth and nourishing. The scent is mildly minty, not sure what 'Santa's Kisses' is supposed to be.

Soap and Glory Fruity Shower Gel | As the name suggests the scent on this was generically fruity. It was okay, smelt nice and lathered well. I'd not repurchase as I prefer other shower gels more.

John Frieda Hair Foam | I  like the foam because one box goes a long way and covers my long hair. The dye does wash out of my hair after a couple of months but it also means there isn't a harsh demarcation line of roots. I will repurchase at some point.

Yankee Candle Munich Christmas Market | This candle was very much a disappointment, it had no scent throw and for the price it is not something I would repurchase.

  

Empties: January 2025

Boots Cotton Wool Balls | Okay, small basic cotton balls. I would repurchase these but prefer larger ones.

OPI Avojuice Jasmine | A nice light hand lotion, I would repurchase but don't think they are made anymore.

L'Occitane Amande Hand Cream | A nice light hand cream, sinks in quickly and leaves my hands scented of almond. I would repurchase but have two big tubes left to work through.

Dirty Works Tropical Lip Balm | A soft formula, scented like pineapples, did what you would expect a lipbalm to do. I would repurchase this but have others to use up.

Wild Lipbalm Plum Frosted Pear | This is the reformulated version of the lipbalm which is less gritty and softer a formula than previous. It is harder than the Dirty Works one but soft enough, leaves my lips soft. Scented of pears which was nice. I will repurchase the lip balms from Wild once I have used up others.

L'Occitane Immortelle Divine Youth Cream | This sample only had one use in it, it sank in quickly and by the next morning my skin was very soft. I would purchase this but a full size jar is over £80.

Garnier Ultimate Blends Pineapple Shampoo | The scent on this is very fruity and it does linger in my hair. I found the shampoo still lathered without SLS, I will repurchase this at some point.

Superdrug Cherry and Almond Conditioner | A very light conditioner, smells like Alpro Cherry yoghurt, and would repurchase.

Wickford and Co Gingerbread Candle | This candle had a good scent throw, and very much of gingerbread. I would repurchase this next year.

  

Empties: December 2024

A few bits used up this past month, but only one polish related item;

UNT Peel Off Base Coat | I really like using this for glitters, so it got a lot of use throughout December. I have a backup but would repurchase.

Collection Pressed Powder | This is very light in tone which works for my skin tone. I prefer a loose powder but they can be messy. I would repurchase this if I didn't have a back up already.

The Ordinary Silicone Primer | This was okay, standard silicone texture. I would repurchase but I have another brand to try first.

Above and Beyond Refillable Lipbalm Vanilla | The formula on this was nice enough, I didn't like the domed shape which I imagine is similar to the EOS ones from years ago. I think the company has since gone bust, however I have now got the Wild refillable bullet style lipbalms to try out. I have a couple of refills to use up from A&B.

Lush Lord of Misrule Bath Bomb | Patchouli, earthy and spicy. Would keep repurchasing as long as they come out for Halloween, I recently got gifted a few [review].

Lush Groovy Fairy Bath Bomb | A pink, snow fairy scented bath bomb. Sweet scented which lingered on my skin.

Umberto Giannini Dry Shampoo | I don't go through a lot of dry shampoo but when I do reach for it I like this one. Applied the night before, in the morning no white cast left in my dark hair. I will repurchase it.

Wild Shower Gel Ocean Mist | A semi thick shower gel, I wasn't sure what to expect from the 'ocean mist' scent but it wasn't bad, slightly 'masculine'. I would repurchase from Wild Shower Gel but maybe not this scent.

Candy Cane Lane Gingerbread Candle | This had a really great scent throw to it, only complaint is it didn't last that long but it was a shorter candle. I would repurchase this one in December.
